$3.18

So the decor in our apartment is kind of like the inside of my head. Things everywhere, no real theme. We are always on the lookout for new and interesting art for our living room wall. A few weeks ago we found the most amazing picture at a goodwill. We were looking at the art and I had picked up a large heavy gold sculpture to which the boy immediately shut me down. He was right to do so, we don't really have room for sculptures in our apartment. Then I walked by a large framed piece and was in awe. It's just amazing. I'll just show you...

Yep. Amazing. It's painted on fabric and has embroidered accents. It looks like Wes Anderson created it, in fact he might gave, who really knows. I already named the one on the right Steve. We're still searching for a name for the one on the left. And it was only $3.18. I don't think I will ever find a better deal.

I'll eventually show our almost finished living room wall so you can see its home. For now I'm searching for a name for the left otter and am wondering where this could have come from. I can only imagine the reality of its creation is amazing.

2014- some memories.

2014 was not my favorite year but it had some great moments. Here are a few.

Went with some friend to the Boston Science Museum for a scavenger hunt mystery. We lost but it was a blast.

Went snowshoeing for the first time.

I got to see synchronized swimming live for the first time. It was fantastic. I fell in love with it because of Esther Williams when I was 8 years old. I was a strange kid.

Froze at the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. We go every year and it's a huge deal in our area. I don't remember it EVER being that cold for a parade before. But we made it until the end of the parade. Gotta love New England weather.

Clancy kept growing and is insanely busy. All The Time.

I got to go to obedience school with my mom and Clancy. Turns out I'm a terrible influence on him.

Read a ton of books on the sun whenever I could.

Had some fun times at work.

Did some fancy hairdos.

Clancy got his big boy ruff.

Went to the Big E.

Carved a pumpkin for the first time in over a decade. His name was Gordon.

Went to a beautiful wedding for friends and it was lovely and perfect.

Performed in the ArtWalk in town doing a day of the dead dance. It was an incredible experience. The cast and choreographer were fantastic and we had live musicians and our singer had a voice from beyond. I want to follow her around just in hope of hearing her sing again. I was very lucky and loved the experience.

I got to kitty sit for my brother when he went on vacation. That's Boston and below is Shelby. They're total sweethearts. Boston really missed my brother though and kept dragging his work pants around the apartment.

Shelby always looks concerned.

Eclipse Dance Company (the contemporary dance company I'm a member of) had our own performance and it was unlike anything we've ever done before. It was set in an art gallery and we danced with the crowd and they went where we danced (for the most part). It was a really interesting experience, and I hope we get to do the show again sometime. It kicks my ass but feels fantastic. We also have made #eclipseontour ours. It's pretty funny and reflects our adventures pretty accurately.

I went to New York to see the windows with my mom (we go every year) and we brought my brothers very sweet girlfriend with us. We walked over 10 miles and had a blast.

Christmas was lovely, we don't spend a ton of time together as a family so it's nice to be with each other. This is my adorable grandpa feeding Clancy people food on the sly.

Went out with the boy and his best friend for our annual drink beer and play keno night. We all lost, but the people watching was fantastic.

Celebrated New Years in style.

With the boy.

Playing with fire. No one was harmed.

Peace out 2014. Welcome 2015.
